Publishes Ninth Consecutive Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Report<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n (Englewood, Colo.) \u2013 August 28, 2019 \u2013\u00a0<\/strong>Saunders Construction, Inc.,\u00a0<\/u>a leading general contractor in Colorado, has published its ninth consecutive Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Report<\/a>. This report stands as a testament to Saunders\u2019 continued investment in aligning its economic, environmental and social goals, reaffirming the organization\u2019s commitment to the betterment of standards within the industry and the footprint they leave behind.<\/p>\n Saunders\u2019 2018 CSR Report highlights the company\u2019s advancement in the industry, and its reliance on their CSR initiatives to ensure sustainable growth in work program and corporate identity. Saunders recognizes that investing in its people, focusing on safety, improving business processes and reducing environmental impact adds tremendous value in the industry and community. Saunders uses the B Corp Impact Assessment as a framework for CSR goals and in 2018 received a B Corp Score of 86.3 \u2014\u00a0the average company of similar size earns a score of 57.4.<\/p>\n \u201cCSR at Saunders is about holding ourselves to a higher standard as it pertains to economic vitality, environmental impact and our people. In being true to Saunders\u2019 core values of care, collaboration, commitment and community, it\u2019s our responsibility to operate safely, sustainably and transparently as we deliver our vision of building what matters,\u201d said Greg Schmidt, Saunders president and CEO. \u201cThis report is part of that responsibility and it showcases how we develop and apply our skills to ensure we\u2019re doing our part.\u201d<\/p>\n Thanks to its comprehensive approach to CSR and industry-best B Corp Score, Saunders was recognized as a \u201cBest for Colorado\u201d<\/a> \u00a0company in 2018. Best for Colorado honors companies that strive to create higher quality jobs, build stronger communities and preserve a healthier environment. Of the 16 Colorado companies to receive this honor, Saunders was the only company in the construction management\/general contractor industry to be recognized.<\/p>\n In terms of sustainability in 2018, Saunders completed five LEED Certified projects throughout Colorado.<\/p>\n Also, in 2018, Saunders selected a new Building Confidence in Kids (BCiK)\u2122 partner, Heart & Hand Center<\/a>, whose mission is to create a stable environment for youth in northeast Denver. In total, employees volunteered more than 355 hours and hosted 21 events through the BCiK program.<\/p>\n Additionally, last year, Saunders employees clocked over 9,851 training hours, a 33 percent increase from 2017, and worked over one million manhours with no lost time incidents. It also rolled out a new program, Saunders Well-being, to support employees\u2019 overall health through a broad assortment of wellness offerings.<\/p>\n\n
