The project is the newest recreation center for the City of Aurora, which continues to see increasing development and population growth year over year.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Construction commenced in February 2021, following an extensive public input process. The $41.9 million, 77,000<strong>&#8211;<\/strong>square-foot center reflects the needs and wants of the community in the southeast section of the city. Located near several neighborhoods and the Aurora Reservoir, the center is a regional destination boasting the first indoor fieldhouse within the city in addition to a variety of other amenities and breathtaking views of the Colorado mountains.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cAs a community builder, Saunders has a long history of delivering facilities that create better, healthier and more connected communities in Colorado. We are proud to have delivered this project, working closely with Populous Architects and the City of Aurora,\u201d said Tom Alford, Senior Vice President of Saunders. \u201cThis state-of-the-art facility is inspired by the diversity and connectivity of the Aurora community, bringing together art and functionality seamlessly.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">One the center\u2019s most prominment features is the 23,000-square-foot fieldhouse, which provides athletes of all ages and sports the chance to play year-round in a temperature-controlled indoor environment.
